How Much Does Hybrid Battery Replacement Cost?
The short answer: $900–$2,700 for a complete hybrid battery replacement at Certified Hybrid in Fullerton, CA — depending on your car and the warranty you choose. Most jobs are done in about an hour, and every pack is tested and backed by a written warranty.
At a dealership, the same job — a new pack plus labor — commonly runs into several thousand dollars. The table below shows where common models start with us.
Starting prices by model (battery, 1-year warranty tier)
| Vehicle | Battery from | 2-year warranty tier from |
| Toyota Prius 2001–2018 | $950 | $1,300 |
| Toyota Prius C | $1,050 | $1,300 |
| Lexus CT 200h / UX 250h | $950 | $1,300 |
| Toyota Camry Hybrid | $1,500 | $1,750 |
| Lexus RX 450h | $1,900 | $2,200 |
| Toyota Highlander Hybrid | $1,700 | $2,400 |
| Honda Civic Hybrid | $1,800 | $2,000 |
| Hyundai Sonata / Kia Optima Hybrid | $2,500 | Call |

What changes the price?
- The vehicle. A Prius pack is smaller and cheaper than a Highlander or RX 450h pack.
- The warranty tier. 1-year / 10,000-mile or 2-year / 20,000-mile, whichever you choose.
- The pack generation. New Generation packs with unlimited mileage cost more and last longer.
Three questions to ask any shop before you pay
- Is it a complete pack or just a few cells? Replacing single cells in an old pack is a temporary fix; the rest of the pack is the same age. We install complete, tested packs only.
- Is the warranty in writing, and where do I go if something fails? Ours is a fixed, CA BAR-licensed shop in Fullerton (ARD 317805) — you bring the car back to us and we repair or replace under warranty.
- What is the total — battery, installation and tax? We quote the full total on the phone before you come in. No surprises.
Is it worth replacing the battery on an older hybrid?
Usually, yes. A healthy hybrid with a fresh pack is worth far more than the same car with a dead battery — and far cheaper than replacing the car. If the rest of the car is sound, $950–$2,500 puts it back on the road for years. Bring it in: we test the battery first and tell you honestly whether replacement makes sense for your car.
